Janata Clinic Launch and Pediatric Camp at Kapan

Janata Clinic was officially launched today with a Free Pediatrics camp at Ward no. 12, Kapan of Budhanilkantha Municipality.

The camp was organized in coordination with the Office Secretariat of Member of Parliament, Mr. Gagan Kumar Thapa who is also the co-founder of this social movement aimed at bringing a constructive change in health care system of the country. During the camp, Thapa stated that healthcare is a not just the responsibility of the government but also of the public and everybody should work together to make it better. He believes in making specialist health facilities accessible and affordable to the residents of his constituency and hopes that this campaign will provide a platform for young volunteers to work progressively to bring a change in the current health care system.


More than a 100 children were examined by consultant paediatrician Dr. Bimal Lal Karn and Dr. Sumi Marahatta, a resident at Kathmandu University School of Medical Science (KUSMS). Medicines were also distributed free of cost in coordination with the Kapan Health Post and local volunteers.

Janata Clinic, a health movement initiated by Hon. Minister of Health Mr. Gagan Kumar Thapa and Mr. Dibyesh Giri, has been conducting various camps in and around Kathmandu to ensure accessibility of specialized health services to the general public either free of cost or in an affordable cost.
