Janata Clinic conducted a One Day Free Multispecialty Health Camp at a health post in Chilaunebas, Syangja in collaboration with a local community installation called Jharkhola Motilal Smriti Pratisthan.
The members of the installation along with a few young volunteers coordinated the camp and supported with logistics. Members of Parliament, Prof. Dr. Ganesh Man Gurung and Mr. Raju Thapa also attended the camp along with a few other dignitaries including the SSP and DHO of the district.
The camp offered a total of 10 specialty services including general medicine, pediatrics, orthopedics, pulmonology, nephrology, cardiology, gynaecology, dental, general surgery and radiodiagnosis.
General OTC medicines were distributed for free and rest were made available at the health post. A total of 18 doctors, 7 pharmacists and a few nurses from Kathmandu and Pokhara participated in the camp which provided free health assessment to 1127 patients from Chilaunebas, Bangsingh and other surrounding villages. Among the 1127 patients, 70% were female and 5% children. The findings of the camp reflects prevalence of respiratory, cardiovascular and orthopedic diseases in the elderly residents of Chilaunebas and surrounding areas while most of the children suffer protein-energy malnutrition. The cases requiring referral will be managed at Regional Hospital, Pokhara.
